Dr. Belill is proud of the hard work and dedication shown by three of our staff members who have achieved new levels of professional certification. Andy and Brittany passed the entry level examination to receive the qualification as Certified Paraoptometric (CPO). The CPO exam covers: basic science, clinical principles and procedures, optics and dispensing. Kate passed the higher level examination to qualify as a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant (CPOA).
The CPOA exam covers: office operations, optics and dispensing, special testing and procedures, refractive status of the eye, binocularity, basic ocular anatomy and physiology. Paraoptometric certification is a program developed by a respected panel of American Optometric Association certified paraoptometrics and doctors of optometry, created to encourage continuing education and training for staff members of optometry offices. Andy previously had also passed certification of American Board of Opticianry (ABO). Kate had previously passed the entry level CPO exam.
